Q. Can I become a certified and licensed EMT in Arkansas if I pass the EMT & Fire Training EMT B Course?
A. Once you complete our course and pass your National Registry Examinations, you will be NREMT certified, but will not be licensed in the state of Idaho. The State of Arkansas requires you to have a current state license while applying for licensure through the reciprocity process. Just having an NREMT certificate does not automatically mean that Arkansas will grant licensure, and they will require you to go through the reciprocity application process.
Students who graduate from our program and obtain NREMT certification are able to apply for an Idaho Certificate of Eligibility. This document states that you meet all requirements for State Licensure except for being affiliated with a Licensed EMS Agency in Idaho. Most states will accept this document as evidence of certification, but you should check with your individual state to verify this prior to enrolling. It is best for you to get a written response from your state agency that states they will accept this document, so that if there is a question down the road you can produce evidence to that fact.

Q. Does Arkansas require any extra EMT training that EFT does not provide in its course?
A. Yes, Arkansas requires you to be licensed in another state for reciprocity. They also have a required Arkansas practical skills examination that all EMT applicants must pass.
Q. How do I recertify for EMS in the State of Arkansas?
A. Arkansas requires a 24-hour basic refresher approved by the state. We offer a refresher that is 24 hours, and includes 10 hours of self-directed learning, and 14 hours of Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) sessions where a real instructor is present to answer questions and discuss the topics. It is fully accepted by the NREMT and is CECBEMS accredited. This is only one of the few online refreshers that meet the actual requirements by the NREMT to be counted as an official refresher. You have 2 years to complete the refresher from the time you sign up (or you can usually get it done in as little as 2 to 3 weeks). The cost of the refresher is $249. *Please approve with your state before registering.
