Q. Where is the state of North Carolina in the transition from the National Standard Curriculum to the new National EMS Education Standards?
A. Couldn’t find any information about North Carolina’s transition, but if you are certified NREMT they will accept your certification.
Q. Does North Carolina require any extra EMT training that EFT does not provide in its course?
A. No
Q. How do I recertify for EMS in the State of North Carolina?
A. You must maintain your NREMT certification, which means you will need to take a Basic EMT Refresher course. We offer an online EMT Basic Refresher course with interactive, blended-learning accredited by CECBEMS and approved for NREMT Re-certification. This Refresher course thoroughly addresses the objectives in the DOT EMT-Basic Refresher National Standard Curriculum.
We offer an online refresher that is 24 hours, and includes 10 hours of self-directed learning, and 14 hours of Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) sessions where a real instructor is present to answer questions and discuss the topics. It is fully accepted by the NREMT and is CECBEMS accredited. This is only one of the few online refreshers that meet the actual requirements by the NREMT to be counted as an official refresher. You have 2 years to complete the refresher from the time you sign up (or you can usually get it done in as little as 2 to 3 weeks). The cost of the refresher is $249.
