Q. Can I become a certified and licensed EMT in Rhode Island if I pass the EMT & Fire Training EMT B Course?
A. Yes. Rhode Island requires you to provide course completion information and your NREMT certificate number when you fill out the application to become an EMT. Upon completion of our course and the successful passing of the NREMT practical and cognitive exams, you will receive an NREMT certificate which you can use to apply for licensure in the state of Rhode Island.

A. Rhode Island has 3 different levels for EMS Providers: EMT-Basic, EMT-Cardiac, and EMT-Paramedic.
Q. Does Rhode Island require any extra EMT training that EFT does not provide in its course?
A. No.
Q. How do I recertify for EMS in the State of Rhode Island?
A. An EMS provider with an NREMT license may submit documentation of a current registration as an EMT-B by the National Registry at the time of license renewal. The NREMT requires a 24-Hour EMT-B Refresher like the one that we provide in order to maintain a current NREMT certification.
Our online refresher is 24 hours, and includes 10 hours of self-directed learning, and 14 hours of Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) sessions where a real instructor is present to answer questions and discuss the topics. It is fully accepted by the NREMT and is CECBEMS accredited. This is only one of the few online refreshers that meet the actual requirements by the NREMT to be counted as an official refresher. You have 2 years to complete the refresher from the time you sign up (or you can usually get it done in as little as 2 to 3 weeks). The cost of the refresher is $249.
