Minnesota EMT & AEMT Licensure and Course Acceptance Details
EMT Training Courses in MN

Q. Can I become a certified and licensed EMT or AEMT in Minnesota if I pass the EMT & Fire Training EMT or AEMT Course?

A. Yes. The state of Minnesota requires you to have a current NREMT certification to apply for reciprocity. When you are finished with our EMT or AEMT Course, and pass both the NREMT practical and written exam you will be certified with the National Registry.

Q. Where is the state of Minnesota in the transition from the National Standard Curriculum to the new National EMS Education Standards?

A. Not available.

Q. Does Minnesota require any extra EMT training that EFT does not provide in its course?

A. No.

Q. How do I recertify for EMS in the State of Minnesota?

A. Be current on CPR, successfully complete 48 hours of CEU’s in the EMT programs that are consistent with the US DOT National Standard Curriculum, and pass a practical skills test approved by the board and administered by a training program approved by the board.

We can help you with 24 of those hours with our 24-hour online refresher course. The refresher includes 10 hours of self-directed learning, and 14 hours of Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) sessions where a real instructor is present to answer questions and discuss the topics. It is fully accepted by the NREMT and is CECBEMS accredited. This is only one of the few online refreshers that meet the actual requirements by the NREMT to be counted as an official refresher. You have 2 years to complete the refresher from the time you sign up (or you can usually get it done in as little as 2 to 3 weeks). The cost of the refresher is $249.

Q. I failed the NREMT exam 3 times already. Will your 24 Hour Online EMT Refresher allow me to retest with the NREMT?

 A. Yes. Once you pass our 24 Hour EMT Online Refresher course you will have 3 more opportunities at taking the NREMT Exam. The Course is accepted by the NREMT and covers all 24 hours of the Mandatory Core and Content required. To insure that you pass on your next attempt you can practice for the exam with our test prep site.

 Q. I failed the NRAEMT exam 3 times already. Will your 36 Hour Online AEMT Refresher allow me to retest with the NREMT?

 A. Yes. Once you pass our 36 Hour AEMT Online Refresher course you will have 3 more opportunities at taking the NRAEMT Exam. The Course is accepted by the NREMT for both AEMT and I85 and covers all 36 hours of the Mandatory Core and Flexible Core Content required. To insure that you pass on your next attempt you can practice for the exam with our test prep site.

 Q. Will your 36 Hour Online AEMT Refresher allow me to recertify as an Advanced EMT?

 A. To recertify with the National Registry as an AEMT you will need to complete the 36 Hour AEMT Refresher, an additional 36 Continuing Education (CE’s) hours, and have a current CPR Certification. If you are doing this Refresher for State Licensure, please check with your state first to see if they will accept this 36 Hour Online AEMT Refresher that is CECBEMS approved and NREMT accepted.

Q. Does the state of Minnesota accept IFSAC Certification for reciprocity?

A. Yes. If you are applying for licensure in the state of Minnesota, you must show proof of certification by IFSAC.

We can also help you pass your firefighter exams. Our fire fighting questions and study guide are written by a staff of Nationally Certified Firefighters with over 20 years of experience and this experience is included in our examinations. Each question is based upon the NFPA 1001 Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications. This national standard is used by most fire departments to certify at the Firefighter 1 and Firefighter 2 levels. http://www.fire-fighter-exam.com/
