Q. Can I become a certified and licensed EMT or AEMT in Oregon if I pass the EMT & Fire Training EMT or AEMT Course?
A. Yes. The state of Oregon requires that you have a current certification with another state and with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians to apply for reciprocity. However, if your initial schooling to become an EMT is within the last 24-months and allowed you to become Nationally Registered but not state certified, the state requirement will be waved. Our course helps you to become Nationally Registered with the NREMT but we do not offer state certification, so under this exception to the rule, this course will work for you as long as licensure is procured within 24 months of completion.
Oregon EMS provider licenses by reciprocity are granted at the
level of the applicant’s National Registry Certification with the
exception of I-99 which will be granted Oregon EMT-Intermediate, and
I-85 which will be granted Oregon EMT.
Q. Does Oregon require any extra EMT training that EFT does not provide in its course?
A. We provide the Oregon specific training for students who are seeking Licensure in Oregon at no additional cost. We will also be glad to sign the proper forms for the State of Oregon to attest to the student being trained in these areas.
Q. How do I recertify for EMS in the State of Oregon?
A. The Recertification procedure for the Oregon EMT can be obtained through the State of Oregon online recertification program.
Q. I failed the NREMT exam 3 times already. Will your 24 Hour Online EMT Refresher allow me to retest with the NREMT?
A. Yes. Once you pass our 24 Hour EMT Online Refresher course you will have 3 more opportunities at taking the NREMT Exam. The Course is accepted by the NREMT and covers all 24 hours of the Mandatory Core and Content required. To insure that you pass on your next attempt you can practice for the exam with our test prep site.
Q. I failed the NRAEMT exam 3 times already. Will your 36 Hour Online AEMT Refresher allow me to retest with the NREMT?
A. Yes. Once you pass our 36 Hour AEMT Online Refresher course you will have 3 more opportunities at taking the NRAEMT Exam. The Course is accepted by the NREMT for both AEMT and I85 and covers all 36 hours of the Mandatory Core and Flexible Core Content required. Q. Will your 36 Hour Online AEMT Refresher allow me to recertify as an Advanced EMT?
A. To recertify with the National Registry as an AEMT you will need to complete the 36 Hour AEMT Refresher, an additional 36 Continuing Education (CE’s) hours, and have a current CPR Certification. If you are doing this Refresher for State Licensure, please check with your state first to see if they will accept this 36 Hour Online AEMT Refresher that is CECBEMS approved and NREMT accepted.

Q. Does the state of Oregon accept IFSAC Certification for reciprocity?
A. Oregon Fire Certification Program accepts IFSAC certified firefighters for reciprocity certification. You must be affiliated with an Oregon Fire Agency who can use your certification to apply for you. The agency has the discretion to decide if they would like to accept the training that you have been through. Additional courses or training might be required before applying for State Certification.
