Q. Can I become a certified and licensed EMT in West Virginia if I pass the EMT & Fire Training EMT Course?
A. Yes. Once you have completed our course and passed both of your NREMT exams, you will be certified with the NREMT. This will allow you to take the West Virginia State exam if it is required for you to have a license.
Q. Does West Virginia require any extra EMT training that EFT does not provide in its course?
A. It appears that you must pass a state written exam, and be affiliated with an EMS Agency, Fire department or Rapid Response Agency, show proof of a current CPR card, and apply. Our course meets the requirements for the EMT Certification with the NREMT, but you will have to take West Virginia State practical exam. There isn't a lot of information available on the West Virginia State EMS Web Site, and all applications are online and not availalbe to the general public. It also looks like West Virginia may have a way for Medical Professionals to challenge EMS tests for Licensure.
Q. How do I recertify for EMS in the State of West Virginia?
A. To recertify as an EMT in the state of West Virginia, you need to complete a 24-hour refresher training that is CECBEMS approved and documented. We offer a 24-hour refresher that includes 10 hours of self-directed learning, and 14 hours of Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) sessions where a real instructor is present to answer questions and discuss the topics. It is fully accepted by the NREMT and is CECBEMS accredited. This is only one of the few online refreshers that meet the actual requirements by the NREMT to be counted as an official refresher. You have 2 years to complete the refresher from the time you sign up (or you can usually get it done in as little as 2 to 3 weeks). The cost of the refresher is $249.
Q. I failed the NREMT exam 3 times already. Will your 24 Hour Online EMT Refresher allow me to retest with the NREMT?
A. Yes. Once you pass our 24 Hour EMT Online Refresher course you will have 3 more opportunities at taking the NREMT Exam. The Course is accepted by the NREMT and covers all 24 hours of the Mandatory Core and Content required. To insure that you pass on your next attempt you can practice for the exam with our test prep site.
