Students login online, watch the lectures and then take an assessment exam over the material. Once the exam is successfully completed with a score of 80% or better, the student is automatically issued a certificate of completion. Multiple exam attempts are permited. You may apply this course to the NREMT required hours of NON-live continuing education.

Cognitive Objectives

1. Identify proper treatment for a chest injury with paradoxical motion.
2. Identify and locate the organs of the chest and abdomen.
3. State the interaction of the diaphragm and rib cage during respiration.
4. State what a pneumothorax is.
5. Differentiate between the different types of pneumothorax.
6. State different chest injuries and their presentation.
7. Describe the treatment for a blunt trauma abdominal injury patient who is conscious and alert.
8. Describe the importance of rapid transportation in patients with injuries to the great vessels in the chest.
